IPSI INFORMATION

IPSI LLC (formerly International Process Services, Inc.) is a limited liability company formed by Bechtel Corporation and D. G. Elliot and Associates.  IPSI serves as a gas processing technology center for Bechtel, as well as providing conceptual process design, process technology and consulting services, front end (feed) and bid package preparation, feasibility studies, economic evaluation, technical audits, precommissioning and commissioning assistance, and certain research and development activities to other clients in the field of oil and gas processing. IPSI is comprised primarily of senior process engineers, many of whom hold doctorate degrees in the field of chemical engineering. Founded in 1986, IPSI operates out of offices in the Bechtel Tower at 3000 Post Oak (near the Galleria), conveniently located to share both staff and support resources with Bechtel.

 OWNERSHIP/ORGANIZATION

The majority ownership of IPSI is held by the Bechtel Corporation located in Houston with a current total staff of 1,750 employees including 1,300 technical staff members. The other shareholder of IPSI is D. G. Elliot.

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the company are to:

• Provide conceptual design, process engineering, process technology, and consulting services in the fields of oil and gas processing and related areas.
• Develop patentable processes and unique equipment in the same fields.
• Provide process design support in the execution of oil and gas processing projects to Bechtel or others.
• Undertake certain research and development activities in the field of oil and gas processing technology.

As the above diagram shows, front-end engineering has the most influence on the improvement of project values. IPSI performs front-end process design and conceptual engineering services primarily for oil and gas producing companies. Activities include the following:
