IPSI is an industry leader in the design of cryogenic processing facilities for natural gas. IPSI engineers have actively participated in the Gas Processors Association’s Joint Industry Research Program, both as Steering Committee members and as financial sponsors since the 1970’s. These activities, augmented by our support of local University research in areas of mutual interest, have underwritten IPSI’s extensive cryogenic properties database and the ability to customize process simulators for specialized applications, such as N2 and He separation from natural gas. Examples of N2 (He) projects conceptually designed by IPSI are as follows:

For LNG Technology, IPSI, through its affiliation with Bechtel, is a party to the Bechtel–Phillips Petroleum Alliance for the advancement of Phillips’ Optimized Cascade ™ LNG Process.  IPSI, along with Bechtel, offers the world’s most accomplished team of in-depth LNG-related expertise.  Several IPSI process engineers are members of a permanent, integrated team of LNG technology and EPC experts who are devoted solely to the development of fit-for-purpose design and work process optimization of natural gas projects.  This team works in coordination with Phillips to integrate Bechtel’s EPC expertise and IPSI’s gas processing technology with Phillips’ flexible LNG process technology.  A recent example is Atlantic LNG’s Trinidad project, where we designed a plant with a smaller footprint, which contributed to substantially reduced costs and a shorter EPC schedule.
